# How to Edit a Visit

This guide shows you how to update a visit if something was entered incorrectly.

Use this when:

* A visit was saved with incorrect information
* The wrong compound, lot, or quantity was selected
* Details need to be updated after saving

### Before you start

Editing a visit may affect:

* Inventory counts
* Audit logs
* Compliance records

Always confirm what needs to be changed before editing.

### Steps

#### 1. Go to Visits

* Open the **Visits** section

#### 2. Find the visit

* Search for the patient
* Locate the correct visit

👉 Make sure you open the correct visit

#### 3. Open the visit

* Click into the visit to view details

***

#### 4. Click “Edit”

* Select the option to edit the visit

#### 5. Make the correction

Update the necessary fields, such as:

* Visit details
* Compound
* Lot
* Quantity

#### 6. Review changes

Before saving, confirm:

* The updated information is correct
* The compound, lot, and quantity match what actually happened

#### 7. Save changes

* Click **Save**

### After saving

* The visit is updated
* Changes are recorded in the audit log
* Inventory may be adjusted based on the update

### Common mistakes

#### Editing the wrong visit

Always confirm patient and visit details before making changes

If you change the compound, also confirm:

* Lot
* Quantity

#### Ignoring inventory impact

If you do not have permission:

* Contact a clinic admin or manager
* Do not create a new visit to fix the issue
